
Professor Pat Utomi to Deliver Keynote at ISA 2025
The Igbo Studies Association (ISA) is delighted to announce that Professor Pat Utomi will deliver the Madubuike keynote address at the 2025 ISA Annual Conference in Chicago.
The conference will run from May 14 to 17 at Dominican University, Chicago, USA. The theme is Culture and Human Capital: Opportunities and Challenges. The Madubuike keynote 2025 will take place on May 15th at Palmer Hall.
A leading voice in African economic and political thought, Prof. Utomi is known globally for his work as a political economist, policy advocate, business executive, and public intellectual. He has served as a professor at Lagos Business School and held various roles in government, business, and civil society. Through his writings and public engagements, he has consistently championed democratic governance, inclusive development, and the power of ideas in shaping Africa’s future.
His keynote will engage with this year’s conference theme and reflect on the challenges and opportunities facing the Igbo people and Africa in a changing global landscape.
ISA 2025 will gather scholars, students, and professionals from across disciplines and continents. The presence of Prof. Utomi as keynote speaker adds further prestige to this year’s gathering and reaffirms ISA’s role as a leading platform for critical engagement with Igbo and African studies.
