Ononiwu Oparah is a Lecturer in the History and International Studies Department, College of Arts and Social Sciences. He has a background in African History, Urbanization, Slavery, and the Atlantic World, Conflict Studies, and, for some years, specialized in teaching History and International Studies to Undergraduate students at Evangel University Akaeze, Ebonyi State, Nigeria.
He has published widely in his research areas of African History, Urbanization, and Conflict History, including in learned journals and Springer Nature outlets. He is a member of the Historical Society of Nigeria (HSN), the Lagos Studies Association (LSA), the International Strategic Management Institute (ISMI), the African Interdisciplinary Studies Association (AISA), Africa and African Diasporic Studies Research Group (A & ADSRG), the Association of African Historians (AAH), Slaveryarchives Book Club (SBC), Political Studies Association (PSA), African Studies Association of the United Kingdom (ASAUK), African Humanities Research and Development Circle (AHRDC), and Igbo Studies Association (ISA).
