Linguistics
A research group for ISA members interested in the linguistic study of Igbo and related languages. The group provides a space for scholars, students, and researchers to discuss phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, language documentation, language change, language acquisition, and language pedagogy.
Research focus: This group focuses on the structure, use, development, and teaching of Igbo and related languages. It supports discussion on linguistic theory, fieldwork, language description, endangered language documentation, language variation, bilingualism, multilingualism, and applied linguistic approaches to Igbo studies.
Group rules:
Members are encouraged to share research questions, publications, calls for papers, teaching resources, data-related questions, and collaboration opportunities. Please keep discussions respectful, evidence-based, and relevant to linguistic research. When sharing language data, members should respect ethical research practices, community consent, and proper acknowledgement of sources.
