    The Igbo Studies Association (ISA) invites scholars, students and professionals from all parts of the world, whose research interests cover any of the areas of Igbo Studies, to submit abstracts for the 18th ISA Annual International Conference, to be held at Oakland Hotel, 2 Ebeano Tunnel Crossing, Off Ogui Road, Enugu, Nigeria, on June 18-20, 2020.

    The 2020 conference principal theme, Uwa Ndi Igbo (Igbo World, Igbo Condition), provides opportunities for scholars to engage with colleagues and share their research in an interdisciplinary dialogue and exhibition on topics and issues facing the Igbo at home and abroad. Subthemes include, but are not limited to the following:

    GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING AN ABSTRACT

    Please submit an abstract of 250-300 words, prepared in MS-Word and according to the submission guidelines, online through the ISA website. Papers can be written in Igbo or English. All abstracts not prepared according to the submission guidelines will be rejected.

    The abstract should include the title of your proposed paper, poster, panel or round-table, your motivation for proposing the work, thesis or hypothesis, theoretical framework, references, and projected conclusions. It should also include your names in full, current status and institutional affiliation, mailing address, phone number and e-mail address.

    ACCEPTANCE AND FEES

    If your abstract is accepted, you will be notified in writing by the ISA Program Chair with information on how to pay a non-refundable membership fee of $50.00 (paid in advance), and later a conference registration fee that will permit you to present your paper at the conference.

    DEADLINES AND NOTIFICATION

    Deadline for abstract submission: December 31, 2019 (extended till February 29, 2020).
    Deadline to submit a completed paper: April 30, 2020.

    Selected papers will be considered for publication in a post-conference edited volume.
