Important information for conference participants
The 2021 virtual conference is really here. I have some information to share.
Reserving a seat in the panels
The panels are listed on our website. Please note that the panels are scheduled to run on Nigerian time. Depending on where you live in the world, you will need to match the time to your local time. Please review the panels and sign up in as many of them as you would like to attend. Only those who reserved a seat in a panel will receive the meeting ID, link and password to be able to join the panel. That will be sent out shortly.
To reserve a seat, follow these steps:
- Review the list of panels on the home page. Click on the one in which you want to participate.
- On the panel page, locate the green button that reads RESERVE A SEAT IN THIS PANEL.
- Fill the form and submit. That's all! Please ensure to provide a correct email address so that you will receive the meeting ID and password by email.
Tips for panel chairs
Each panel will have a chair. Please click here to download the tips that can help you to run a panel as a panel chair.
How to host or participate in a Zoom meeting
As you know, the panels will be run via Zoom. Please click here to download a document with information on how to:
- Prepare by downloading and installing Zoom applications on your desktop or cellphone.
- Log in and participate as a meeting host, a participant or a presenter.
- Make a presentation, including sharing your screen when you will be playing your video presentation.
- Get other tips for a successful meeting.
How to use you recorded video presentation
We requested that everyone prepares a recorded video presentation of their paper/s. This will make it easier in terms of technology as well as in terms of keeping to schedule. Please prepare ahead. Get your video ready on the computer/system you will be using to join the conference. When it is your turn:
- the Panel Chair will introduce you (and your team if you have co-presenters).
- you will play your video by yourself, sharing your screen, following the steps for screen sharing on Zoom in this document.
- wait and take questions from your colleagues during the Q&A session.
